A wedding is the most special day in any woman’s life. Most women have been thinking of wedding ideas from when they were little. Once a woman has been proposed to the engagement ring is like a key, a key to start unlocking those wedding ideas for real.

One of the first things to consider when planning a marriage is the wedding invitations. Sending wedding invitations not only makes the wedding official representing a public announcement of your intentions and love for your partner, it is worth noting that most guests will keep their wedding invitations as a memento of the wedding day so it is important to get this detail of the wedding right.

A lot of brides will spend a huge amount of time looking on the internet for different styles of invitations. Although this is a great place to start and you may find some really good bargains you could consider making your own wherein you can personalise and incorporate your other wedding ideas into the theme.

Making your own wedding invitations will not only save you money but it is something that can be done with other members of the family giving them something fun to do and to help them feel involved. They may even have some great wedding ideas of their own which you can include.

When making your own wedding invitations always look around for discounted materials that can be used. Take time to find wholesalers as you could save a huge amount of money buying items such as paper and card from a wholesaler.

You need to think carefully about the design. Try not to make it too complicated and factor in the time you have to make them and the time it will take to potentially make hundreds of invitations. Think about your other wedding ideas and themes and create a card that incorporates as many of these aspects as you can.

If your wedding is based on a silver and white theme then create an invitation that matches these colours. It is very easy to get carried away with an intricate design however you will always need to factor in time and money for any aspect of planning a wedding as your wedding day will be upon you sooner than you think. Therefore do not over elaborate on your wedding invitations if you are planning to make your own unless you are absolutely sure you can complete the job in time and on budget.

If you want to go the whole hog you can even create custom made envelopes to match the invitations. I would recommend using rubber stamps as they can be used over and over again.

The most important thing is to experiment and time what you are doing so you can work out exactly how long it will take and you are happy with the design.
